“Ellie was incredible. I couldn’t be happier with the pictures from our ‘big day’. The best part was most of them (some of my favourites) I didn’t even know she was there. I would recommend Ellie to everyone, professional, talented and an overall lovely person.”
Hello! I’m Ellie, and I love love.
—
I’m such a sucker for a love story, so getting to capture them is the best job ever. I have been documenting people’s happiest days for around 13 years, and I still can’t get enough of the ‘I do’s’ and the first kisses.
My aim is to capture photos with feeling.
My photography style is artistic, contemporary, atmospheric, but above all natural. I love to play with natural light and shadows, and my final edit will be creative but still timeless. I believe that being conservative and considerate while taking your pictures will mean that everyone feels at ease, creating special and sincere photos. My biggest ethos is to NOT take over your day, but instead let the day do the talking. No ordering about, no taking over your timings- the memories come first, I’m there to capture them as they happen.
I produce black and white images and colour images, both to the utmost quality. I am fluent in both Photoshop and Lightroom editing applications, as well as a variety of photographic equipment which I own. Photographing weddings was one of my first photography loves, but I started off with nature and sports. I now shoot weddings along side teaching photography and studio work.
A teeny bit about me as a person:
I’m Ellie Merridale, and I live in Buckingham with my partner Andrew, and our dog Frankie. I grew up in Milton Keynes, and own a photography studio there still. My mum worked in a school as a speech & language therapist, and my dad was a project manager for the government, both are now full-time retirees. I loved school, and owe a lot of the start of my photography career to some fantastic teachers I had at secondary school, I feel very fortunate to have had an education I loved. I am self-taughts and went straight into photography whilst I was at school, it’s always been a part of who I am. I am lucky enough to be a photographer full-time, and I have and still do love every, single, day. I have the most wonderful family and friends, and love spending time with them. When I’m not wedditing (my word for editing weddings), I am an avid Netflix watcher, I listen to audio books and a lot of music, I like to draw and paint, do pottery, go for runs and do yoga, long dog walks, pop to the pub with friends, explore new places and cities, and eat good food. My ideal weekend would be spent at the seaside with loved ones, going for walks and driving to new places.
What’s your story? I’d love to hear yours, and help you capture it x
